Upcoming Reading and I Miss You
Chewy is a good boy

Hi everyone!

First things first, I have an upcoming reading at the Roar Shack Reading Series on Sunday May 18 at 4pm at the Time Travel Mart in Echo Park. This series, spearheaded by the great David Rocklin, is an excellent place to find literary community here in LA. Other folks reading include Erica Blumfield, Angelina Saenz, Cara Lopez Lee, and Karen Palmer. There's also often a chance to read as part of the live write segment.

Second things second, I know it's been some time since I reached out to everyone. I hope everyone is hanging in there while *gestures wildly at the world.* Seriously, though.

My sister got married. If you need any further evidence that she and her new husband are the coolest people in the world, I present to you their wedding cake.

Third things third, I miss your faces! If you feel like it, tell me what you've been up to!

Fourth things fourth, a quick personal update, since this is going to everyone, not just my paid subscribers. I am about to finish up my program, and I got a fellowship next year to finish my dissertation. I'm in the midst of the fun process of attempting to sell my book, so if I'm extremely lucky and the world doesn't end by then, I hope you'll see it on bookshelves by 2027 or 2028 (publishing is *gives the raspberry, the finger, and a kick to the nuts to the entire broken capitalist system *). It's called To Be a Real Man You Have to Fight Yourself Daily and it's about my dad's death at the beginning COVID and then traveling to Germany to try to figure out who he was while also seeing if I want to flee the US to the place my great grandparents fled at the turn of the 20th century. Also, there's history!

Thanks everyone! Much love to you all. See you soon, I hope!

Seth
